About the role:
We are pleased to offer the opportunity for a non-executive board member to join Westfield Health Group. With significant growth and challenges ahead in all areas of the group, we’re looking for an experienced board member to join the wider board to provide strategic direction, governance and leadership.
The responsibilities of our board:
Act as a constructive critic of the objectives and plans developed by the Chief Executive and Executive Team, offering creative and informed contributions.
Help shape strategies that support the delivery of a sustainable, profitable business that positively impacts people’s lives every day.
Ensure that clear and challenging objectives are in place to support the business strategy, vision, and performance improvement.
Oversee the effective implementation of board‑approved strategies and actions by the Chief Executive and Executive Team, and challenge where appropriate.
To engage, build and maintain relations with our key stakeholders to promote the Westfield Health brand, vision, purpose and values.
Demonstrate, when required by the regulator, a strong understanding of the markets we operate in, our business model and strategy, risk management and controls, financial oversight, and the regulatory framework.
With the support of the Company Secretary, uphold and promote the highest standards of corporate governance, regulatory compliance and best practice.
Work with the Senior Independent Director (SID) and participate in the annual performance evaluation of the Chair, in line with the board‑agreed process.
What you will bring:
Experience in a non-executive position.
Knowledge and awareness of health and wellbeing strategies and consumer health trends.
Understanding of regulated environments.
Ability to attend on site board meetings in Sheffield.
Clear and concise communication with high emotional intelligence.
Ability to look beyond operational detail and focus on long‑term value creation.
Comfortable challenging assumptions and exploring alternative strategic paths.
Ability to interpret financial statements, understand key performance drivers and spot emerging risks (cyber, regulatory, ESG, etc.).
Next stages

Interview1: This will be held with the Chairman and Chief People Officer
Interview 2: This will be held with the Chief People Officer and additional NEDs dependent on availability.
