Job Title: Junior IT Support Specialist
Location: Sheffield
About the role:
You will provide first-line technical support to end-users across the organization, ensuring prompt resolution of IT issues and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The role involves troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems, escalating complex issues, and contributing to the smooth operation of IT services.
Your responsibilities:
Act as the first point of contact for all IT-related queries via phone, email, ticketing system and in person.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals.
Support users with software applications including Microsoft 365, Windows OS, and other business-critical systems.
Log and manage incidents and service requests using Zendesk, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.
Escalate unresolved issues to Senior IT Support Specialists or relevant teams as necessary.
Assist in setting up new user accounts, hardware deployment, and onboarding/offboarding processes.
Maintain asset records and ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.
Provide basic training and guidance to users on IT systems and best practices.
Contribute to knowledge base articles and documentation for common issues and solutions
What you’ll bring:
Basic understanding of IT systems, networking fundamentals, and troubleshooting techniques
Experience with Windows OS, Microsoft Office 365, and common desktop applications
Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience, including SSD and RAM repair/replacement
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively
Previous experience in a helpdesk or technical support role would be ideal
Knowledge of Active Directory, EntraID, 365 Admin Centre, Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams Admin Centre is beneficial
Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote support tools, including Zendesk
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users
GCSE Maths and English – Grade 4 or above
Level 3 National Diploma/NVQ or higher in a relevant field / A Levels C or higher in a relevant field / T Level Pass–C on core section or higher in a relevant field
